Fall 2015 Fashion Week is upon us and we are so excited to see our models strut their stuff on the runways this season! Many people wonder what exactly should I wear to a casting? What will make me stand out? How can I dress to land the casting? There is only one answer, YOU. You are your accessory at any fashion go-see and we have prepared some of our tips to help you rock your next casting and go-see!
1. Keep it minimal!
Your natural beauty and talent is and will always be your best accessory, and should make you stand out. By keeping your look as your accessory, casting directors can see what they can work with. Keep a clean face, clean nails keep everything nude and natural, so they can see your natural beauty shine. At go-sees, they love to see the natural canvas and what they have to work with.
2.If you must wear makeup, keep it light.
While steering clear of makeup is best, if you choose to wear makeup keep it as natural as possible. Meaning light concealer, and if you require a bit more coverage opt for a light foundation. Mascara is fine to brighten up your face and if you choose to wear lip product, keep it the shade of your natural lip. The goal with go-see makeup is to play up and highlight all of your natural features, not to overrun your face. Wearing loads of makeup distracts the casting directors from your natural look and your potential, so wearing less of it will work in your favour.
3.Natural nails!
Again with the natural… it is best to keep your nails natural as well. Acrylics are strongly discouraged, however if you must, keep them to a nude colour or a clean French manicure. These are polished but subtle, as they will not be distracting at the casting. Steer clear from nail designs and bling on your nails… as those are distracting from your natural package while at a go-see. Try to keep your hair pulled back from the face if possible, as this highlights your bone structure .
4.Clothing Clothing Clothing!
Clothing is by far one of the most important elements you will have while attending your go-see. In modeling, the people casting for their runway shows want to see your body, and how you will wear the clothing. While on a go-see it is best to keep it neutral, remember your beauty, body and look are the main focus, so it is important you wear a form fitting shirt, preferably black, as white tends to wash you out and form fitting pants. That being said your clothing does not have to be skin tight, but a nice fitted black jean/pant and a nice fitted black or neutral tank will work in your favour!
5.Be Prepared to Walk it Out
With every go-see you attend, there is a high chance they will want to see your walk. In this case, it is crucial that you come prepared with a pair of heels in case the casting team wants to see your walk. It is crucial to never show up wearing sneakers or boots, you can however wear them to the go-see, once you get from point A to point B it is best to change into your heels, it shows preparedness and that’s what the casting team at go-sees love to see! If you don’t have a pair of heels, grab yourself any pair and get to practicing that walk, at go-sees, they love to see a seasoned walk ready for the runways.
